PROtect Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) governs your access and use of the Protect websites (including, without limitation, and (the “Protect Websites”) and the Protect mobile app and related services (collectively with the Protect Websites, the “Protect Services”) and explains how CanadianMadeFive Holdings Inc. (“Protect”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you access and use the Protect Services.

Protect provides a mobile app for alerting designated individuals of a safety emergency (the “Protect App”). The Protect App and the Protect Websites, with their features and functionality, are copyrighted works belonging to Protect. Certain features of the Protect App or the Protect Websites may be subject to additional guidelines, terms, or rules, which will be posted on the Protect Websites in connection with such features.

By using or accessing the Protect Services, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent to Protect collecting, using, and sharing your information as discussed herein. Your access and use of the Protect Services is at all times subject to Protect’s Terms of Use which incorporates this Privacy Policy. Any terms we use in this Policy without defining them have the definitions given to them in the Terms of Use.

What & Why

Protect collects and uses the following information to provide, improve, and protect the Protect Services:

Personal Information & Services . To access and use the Protect Services, you may be required to provide Protect with personal information, including your name, email address, phone number, payment information, physical address, date of birth, calendar and/or schedule information, account activity, global positioning system (“GPS”) coordinates, audio and/or video data, and/or other personally identifiable information (the “Personal Information”). You may choose to give Protect access to your contacts and/or provide Protect with contact information for designated individuals (each designated individual an “Emergency Contact”), including name, email address, phone number, physical address, and/or other personally identifiable information (the “Emergency Contact Information”).

Access to the Protect App is accessible only through the use of an individual user ID and password. To protect the confidentiality of your Personal Information and the Emergency Contact Information, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person. Please advise Protect immediately if you believe that your password has been misused. In addition, always logout and close your browser when you finish your session. Please note that we will never ask you to disclose your password in an unsolicited phone call or email.

Protect protects your Personal Information and/or the Emergency Contact Information and will not share this information with non-designated third parties without your permission, except as outlined below. In the event that you activate an emergency mode, your Personal Information will be automatically sent to your Emergency Contacts. Your Emergency Contacts will receive a message and/or a link to a website that contains all of your Personal Information and/or the Emergency Contact Information. Your Emergency Contacts will be encouraged to share this information with other non-designated third parties, including emergency authorities, etc.

Your access and use of the Protect Services constitutes your permission to: (i) send your Personal Information to your Emergency Contacts if and when you are overdue from an event and/or you choose to share an event during creation and/or you activate an emergency mode; and (ii) send the Emergency Contact Information to your Emergency Contacts.

Protect will not share your Personal Information or the Emergency Contact Information with other non-designated third parties unless such disclosure is necessary (as determined in Protect’s sole discretion) to comply with a court order or other legal process or to protect the rights, property, and/or safety of Protect or any third party.

When you provide Emergency Contact Information, Protect may send a message to the corresponding Emergency Contact on your behalf using your Personal Information. The message may also contain the Emergency Contact Information of other Emergency Contacts. We may also send messages to these other Emergency Contacts on your behalf using your Personal Information. You should only designate individuals as an emergency contact that you know and with their permission to do so.

Since your Personal Information and the Emergency Contact Information is transmitted via e-mail, telephone, text, and/or SMS, Protect does not retain control of this information once it has been transmitted to your Emergency Contacts, and therefore cannot guarantee its security after it has been transmitted. If you have concerns about how your information is handled once it has been transmitted to your Emergency Contacts, you should coordinate directly with those persons. Information that Protect collects may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which Protect operates to enable the use of the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Your access and use of the Protect Services constitutes your permission to such cross-border transfers of your Personal Information and the Emergency Contact Information.

Cookies, Aggregate Data, and Other Technologies . Protect may track the following categories of information when you access any of the Protect Services: IP address, domain servers, type of computer or device or operating system used to access any of the Protect Services, type of web browsers, pages visited, and access times. Such information is used for marketing purposes and/or to compile aggregate data about website or app traffic and website or app interaction so that Protect can enhance the Protect Services and/or to administer the Protect Services and enable your access to and use of the Protect Services. Protect also uses cookies when you access the Protect Services to help Protect remember your preferences and gather information to optimize performance and improve customer experiences. Protect also uses Google Analytics to help it understand how users engage with the Protect Services. The information collected and how it is used is described at

Aggregate data is information Protect collects about a group or category of services or users from which individual user identities have been removed. In other words, no Personal Information or Emergency Contact Information is included in aggregate data. Aggregate data helps Protect understand trends in users’ needs so that Protect can better consider new features or otherwise tailor the Protect Services. This Privacy Policy in no way restricts or limits Protect’s collection and use of aggregate data, and Protect may share aggregate data about its users with third parties for various purposes, including to help Protect better understand user needs, improve the Protect Services, and/or advertising and/or marketing purposes.

A cookie is a small amount of data which is sent to your browser from a website’s computers and is stored on your computer’s hard drive. Most browsers automatically accept cookies as the default setting. You can modify your browser to reject Protect’s cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie by editing your browser options. However, if a browser is set not to accept cookies or if a user rejects a cookie, some portions of the Protect Services may not function properly. For example, you may not be able to sign in and access certain features of the Protect Services.

Outside Services and Apps . You may choose to access outside services and apps, such as Facebook and other social networks. When you do, you may be able to import information from those other services and apps and share content from the Protect Services with those outside services and apps. Some of those third party services and apps may also provide Protect with information from your accounts which may enable Protect to enhance and personalize your use of the Protect Services. If you choose to use these outside services or apps on the Protect Services, the information you share with those outside services and apps will be covered by their privacy policies. You may opt in or out of accessing outside services and apps at any time. Protect is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of outside services and apps.

Minors under 13. If you are a minor less than 13 years old (“Minor”), do not register for the Protect Services or provide any personal information about yourself to Protect unless your parent or guardian has provided Protect with permission to collect such information from you. If Protect learns that it has collected personal information from a Minor without permission from the Minor’s parent or guardian, Protect will delete that information. If you are a parent of a Minor, you may provide Protect with Personal Information about the Minor, or permit Protect to collect Personal Information directly from the Minor to use as part of the Protect Services and Protect will treat such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Service Providers . Protect may commence business relationships with other parties who have confirmed that their privacy practices are consistent with this Privacy Policy (“Service Providers”). For example, Protect may hire Service Providers to provide services like hosting and maintenance, data storage and management, and/or marketing and/or promotions. Protect only provides Service Providers with the information they need to perform those services for Protect. Each Service Provider must agree to use reasonable security procedures and practices, appropriate to the type of information involved, in order to protect your Personal Information and the Emergency Contact Information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Network and Information Security . Protect takes reasonable efforts to protect information we collect from you in connection with the Protect Services, but you agree that your submission of such information is at your sole risk, and you hereby release Protect from any and all liability to you for any loss or liability relating to such information in any way.

While Protect takes reasonable efforts to guard personal information we knowingly collect directly from you, no security system is impenetrable. In addition, Protect cannot guarantee that any Personal Information or Emergency Contact Information that you choose to provide or store on our systems or the systems of third party storage providers through the Protect Services are maintained at adequate levels of protection to meet specific needs or obligations you may have relating to that information.


Protect may share personal information in connection with an acquisition, merger, or sale of all or a substantial portion of Protect’s business, with or to another company. In any such event, you will receive notice if your Personal Information or the Emergency Contact Information is transferred and becomes subject to a substantially different privacy policy.

Protect may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on the Protect Websites. If a revision meaningfully reduces your rights, Protect will notify you.
